Step 3:Drain and Cook Off Excess Fluid:
Once the potatoes are cooked, carefully drain them using a colander. Then, return the drained potatoes to the pot and place it back on the stove over low heat. Allow the potatoes to cook for a few minutes to cook off any excess fluid, stirring occasionally.

Add the remaining 2 teaspoons of sea salt, cracked black pepper, Creole seasoning, warmed whole milk, warmed heavy cream, and melted unsalted butter to the pot with the cooked potatoes.
Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the potatoes until they reach your desired creamy consistency. Make sure all the ingredients are well incorporated into the mashed potatoes.
- – For extra creaminess, add more warm milk or cream while mashing the potatoes.
- – Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences.
- – For a richer flavor, you can roast the garlic cloves before infusing them into the milk and cream.
- – Use unsalted butter to control the saltiness of the dish.
- – For a smooth texture, avoid overmixing the mashed potatoes.
