Ingredients
  

  • ½ Teaspoon Cracked Black Pepper
  • 5 lb Potatoes Yukon Gold peeled
  • ¾ Cup Whole Milk warmed
  • ½ Cup Butter unsalted melted
  • 1 Teaspoon Creole Seasoning
  • ¼ cup heavy cream warmed
  • 8 Garlic Cloves
  • 4 teaspoons Sea Salt divided

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare Potatoes:

  • Peel the Yukon Gold potatoes and cut them into 2-inch cubes. Place the potato cubes in a large pot filled with cold water, making sure the water covers the potatoes by at least 2 inches.

Step 2: Season and Boil:

  • Add 2 teaspoons of sea salt and the peeled garlic cloves to the pot with the potatoes. Bring the water to a boil over high heat and let the potatoes cook for about 15-20 minutes until they are tender and easily pierced with a fork.

Step 3:Drain and Cook Off Excess Fluid:

  • Once the potatoes are cooked, carefully drain them using a colander. Then, return the drained potatoes to the pot and place it back on the stove over low heat. Allow the potatoes to cook for a few minutes to cook off any excess fluid, stirring occasionally.

Step 4: Season and Mash:

  • Add the remaining 2 teaspoons of sea salt, cracked black pepper, Creole seasoning, warmed whole milk, warmed heavy cream, and melted unsalted butter to the pot with the cooked potatoes.
  • Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the potatoes until they reach your desired creamy consistency. Make sure all the ingredients are well incorporated into the mashed potatoes.

Step 5: Serve:

  • Once the mashed potatoes are creamy and well seasoned, transfer them to a serving dish. You can garnish with some additional melted butter or chopped herbs if desired.
