Equipment

  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • cup full-fat sour cream
  • cup buttermilk plus 1 tablespoon
  • 1 tablespoon minced dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill weed
  • teaspoons McCormick Mild Taco Seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients

  • Before diving in, ensure you’ve got all your ingredients ready. This helps you stay organized and ensures you haven’t missed anything.

Step 2: Mix the Base

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk. Use a whisk to blend these ingredients well. The goal is a smooth mixture without any lumps.

Step 3: Introduce the Herbs and Spices

  • Add the dried parsley, dried dill weed, and McCormick Mild Taco Seasoning. Whisk these into the creamy base you’ve just made. The mixture should start adopting a lovely speckled look.

Step 4: Season to Perfection

  • Add salt and black pepper to your liking. I usually recommend starting with just a pinch and gradually adjusting it. You can always add more later, but you can’t take it out!

Step 5: Let it Rest

  • This is crucial. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.

Notes

  • Mayonnaise: You can opt for a lighter version, but the texture might slightly change.
  • Sour Cream: Greek yogurt could be a suitable alternative, but keep in mind it will tweak the taste.
  • Buttermilk: If you don’t have buttermilk, a mix of regular milk and a splash of white vinegar could serve as a substitute.
  • Dried Herbs: Fresh herbs can be used instead of dried. However, you’d need to double the amount.
  • Taco Seasoning: Adjust this to control the spice level. If you’re a spice fan, go wild!
