Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of skim milk
  • 1 6-ounce tub of non-fat strawberry yogurt
  • 1 ½ cups of freshly sliced strawberries
  • ½ cup of fresh red raspberries
  • 1 cup of small ice cubes or crushed ice
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  • First, gather all your ingredients. Make sure your strawberries are hulled and sliced. Fresh berries always bring out the best flavor, but if fresh isn’t available, frozen berries work, too.

Step 2: Add Ingredients to Blender

  • Pour the skim milk into your blender as the base liquid. Add the non-fat strawberry yogurt next. Throw in the sliced strawberries and red raspberries. Follow up with the ice cubes or crushed ice for that refreshing chill. Finally, add the honey and vanilla extract.

Step 3: Blend Until Smooth

  • Secure the lid on your blender. Start blending at a low speed to combine the ingredients gently. Gradually increase the speed until everything is smooth. This should take about one minute, depending on your blender.

Step 4: Serve Immediately

  • Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately to enjoy the optimal texture and taste.

Notes

  • Adjust the Sweetness: If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add a bit more honey.
  • Consistency Tweaks: For a thicker smoothie, reduce the amount of milk. For a thinner one, add a bit more.
  • Substitute Dairy: If you’re lactose intolerant, swap out the skim milk for almond or soy milk.
  • Fresh vs. Frozen: Fresh berries are great, but frozen berries can add an extra frosty texture.
  • Add Protein: If you need more protein, consider adding a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
