Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Brandy
  • 1 box 14.1 oz Refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on the box
  • 1 1/2 cups Chopped Pecans
  • 1 Gala Apple peeled and chopped (1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 jar Ready-to-use Mincemeat 2 cups
  • 1/3 cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Dried Calimyrna Figs
  • 2 teaspoons Grated Lemon Peel

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Unroll one pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie dish, pressing it gently against the sides and bottom.

Step 2:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ready-to-use mincemeat, chopped pecans, chopped apple, chopped figs, brown sugar, brandy, and grated lemon peel. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 3:

  • Spoon the mincemeat mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.

Step 4:

  • Unroll the second pie crust and place it on top of the mincemeat filling. Crimp the edges of the crusts together to seal the pie.

Step 5:

  • Optional: Cut decorative shapes out of the excess pie crust and place them on top of the pie.

Step 6:

  • Using a sharp knife, make several small slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking.

Step 7:

  • Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Step 8:

  • Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • – For an extra crisp crust, brush the top crust with a beaten egg before baking.
  • – Experiment with different varieties of apples for a unique flavor profile.
  • – If you prefer a moister filling, soak the dried figs in warm water for 15 minutes before adding them to the mixture.
  • – Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg for an extra touch of warmth and spice.
  • – Serve the pie warm with a dollop of vanilla ice cream for the perfect complement of flavors.
