- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 pounds potatoes cut into 1-inch chunks
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon Vegeta chicken or vegetable stock powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Juice of 1 large lemon
- if you want it spicy add 2 teaspoons of Harissa paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 teaspoon salt
Step 2: Prepare the Spice Blend
In a small bowl, combine the cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Stir vigorously until all the spices are well incorporated with the oil, forming a fragrant and flavorful blend.
Step 3: Coat the Potatoes
Step 4: Arrange on Baking Sheet
Step 5: Roast in the Oven
Place the baking sheet with the seasoned potatoes into the preheated oven. Roast them for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, remembering to flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure uniform browning.
Step 6: Add Final Touches
Step 7: Optional Enhancements
For an extra depth of flavor, consider adding ½ teaspoon of Vegeta chicken or vegetable stock powder to the roasted potatoes. If you prefer a spicy kick, mix in 2 teaspoons of Harissa paste to the spice blend before coating the potatoes.
- – For a touch of freshness, sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over the roasted potatoes before serving.
- – Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the potatoes just before serving to enhance the flavors.
- – If you prefer a spicier kick, add 2 teaspoons of Harissa paste to the spice mixture.
- – Feel free to customize the spice blend to suit your preferences – don’t be afraid to experiment!
- – To prevent the potatoes from sticking to the baking sheet, make sure to line it with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
